What the Dragonfire update added

Dragonfire is a free content update released on 31 August 2026, followed by Dragonfire Patch 1 on 8 September 2026. It is the name of the update, not an item set. The new items it brought are the Dragonslayer armor, the Firewing Drake mount, Lifeward potions, Leyfin fish and omelettes, Drake Egg Biscuits and the materials behind them.

• Ancient Lands: a new realm of floating islands reached through portals, with Drakes, chests and new resources.
• Dragon Sanctuary: a PvE raid for up to 20 players that ends with Azaryon, the Fire Dragon.
• Dragon Attacks: open-world dragon events. On the royal continent they start without warning; in the Outlands they are announced hours in advance and count for guilds.
• Ashborn: a new enemy faction tied to the dragons.
• New items: Dragonslayer Hood, Jacket and Shoes, the Firewing Drake, Lifeward potions, Leyfin Omelettes and Drake Egg Biscuits.
• Draconic Insight: a vanity progression with the Ancient Mystic set, avatar and avatar ring.
• Outlands change: Resource Guardians in T6+ Outlands zones now spawn without an announcement or map icon.

All new Dragonfire items at a glance

Dragonslayer armor: abilities and recipe

Dragonslayer armor is a new leather set from T4 to T8 that you can enchant like other gear. Each piece needs refined leather and a matching artifact: Dragonhide Crown for the hood, Dragonhide Padding for the jacket and Dragonhide Trim for the shoes. Each artifact is made from 50 Fire Dragon Scales of the same tier.

Fire Dragon Scales come from dragon content: Drakes in the Ancient Lands and the dragons themselves. Check the drop sources in game, because they can change with patches.

• Dragonslayer Hood (Flare): reveals invisible enemies. Useful against gankers and invisibility-heavy builds.
• Dragonslayer Jacket (Wings of Fire): creates a zone that helps damage and cooldown recovery. Read the tooltip for the exact numbers.
• Dragonslayer Shoes (Burning Momentum): builds stacks of move speed that you can spend to refund weapon cooldowns.

Firewing Drake: the new T8 mount

The Firewing Drake is a T8 mount that glides instead of galloping. Damage, roots and slows do not stop the glide, a stun does. It also has a fire breath and is immune to forced movement.

It starts as a Firewing Drake Egg, a rare drop from Azaryon in the Dragon Sanctuary; early guides also list it among Dragon Attack rewards. Place the egg in a Kennel and raise it for 668 hours (27 days and 20 hours) into a Tame Firewing Drake. Then saddle it with 20 Fortified Leather to get the mount. A grown drake gives no new egg without focus and only a tiny chance with focus, so almost every Firewing Drake needs a new egg.

Lifeward potions, Leyfin Omelettes and Drake Egg Biscuits

Lifeward potions use a new Lifeward Brewer spec. They protect nearby allies from a fatal blow, which makes them popular in group content. Each craft gives 10 potions.

Leyfin Omelettes give cast speed, cooldown reduction and a bonus to healing casts. Drake Egg Biscuits give a small extra Combat and Gathering fame bonus (about +5%, check the tooltip) and stack with normal food, which makes them attractive to groups that farm fame for hours.

How to make silver from Dragonfire

New items create new demand. Every Dragonslayer piece, Lifeward potion and omelette needs ingredients that did not sell much before, and supply of the dragon materials is limited to players who run the new content. That gap is where the silver is, but it shrinks as more players farm and craft the items.

   Pick your role

   Decide whether you farm dragon materials yourself (Ancient Lands, Dragon Attacks, the Sanctuary raid) or buy them and craft. Crafters need the right spec; farmers need a group and gear they can lose.

   Check prices for materials and products

   Look up Fire Dragon Scales, Dragon Blood, Leyfin and the finished items on the item price pages. Prices for new items move fast, and the numbers you see can be a few hours old.

   Sell raw materials while they are rare

   In the first weeks, scales, Dragon Blood and Leyfin often sell well to crafters. If you have no crafting spec, selling raw is the simplest profit.

   Craft where the margin is clear

   Compare the cost of leather plus the artifact with the price of the finished Dragonslayer piece, and herbs plus Dragon Blood with ten Lifeward potions. Count the 4% or 8% sales tax and the 2.5% setup fee.

   Supply the side ingredients

   Lifeward potions need large amounts of Dragon Teasel, Foxglove, Ghoul Yarrow and Firetouched Mullein, and omelettes need eggs, plus milk for the T3 and T5 ones. Farmers and herb sellers can profit without going near a dragon.

   Watch demand settle

   As the update ages, more crafters join and prices fall. Recheck margins every few days instead of relying on launch prices.

Meta changes and common mistakes

At launch, the update also removed Resilience Penetration from melee weapons and shapeshifter forms as a seasonal experiment, and reduced some mob debuffs. Balance changes like these can be adjusted later, so check the current patch notes before you build around them.

Dragonfire Patch 1 (8 September 2026) made the Ancient Lands easier to enter: shorter waits for small portals, longer entry windows, portals always visible on the world map, and island quests that ask you to kill 50% of the mobs instead of earning a set amount of fame.

• Searching for a "Dragonfire set". There is none; the armor is called Dragonslayer.
• Entering a lethal portal in gear you cannot replace. Portals in red zones and the Outlands lead to the full-loot Ancient Lands.
• Turning a Firewing Drake Egg into biscuits, or into a mount, without comparing both prices first.
• Crafting at launch prices and selling weeks later after the market has filled.
